On 16, 17 and 18 of March, Kinnaird's Najmuddin Dramatics Society gave a platform to theatrical people for showcasing their talent. Students from NCA, UET and KC kept the audience spell bounded. NCA's Nautanki performed in '70s ssshhh' directed by Shahid Awais, Najeeb Jatoi and Ali Arshad. This act was a farcical parody of the renowned 'Tariq Aziz Show', which gave a tribute to the film industry during the 70s. Other plays from NCA were staged by Alif Adab, Mime and Neo-Transitional Mime. UET students staged 'Anwar Latif Kaun hai?' directed by Ali Kazmi. KC students staged two performances, 'Diya Jalta Hai', which was a brutally honest reflection of the human heart. The other play by KC was a brilliant musical 'Summer Nights: I Wish You Love.’
At the end of this three day event Dr. Bernadette Dean, the principal of Kinnaird, distributed the shields and certificates among the performers. The event had the strong gravity to pull a huge crowed towards it. This wouldn't have been possible without the untiring efforts from the president of Dramatic Society, Zarah Dar and the unending support from the Society advisor Dr. Nadia Anjum. (by Sarah Nayyar)

The National College of Arts decided on dividing their summer festival on a series of weekends. Therefore, the welcome festival for the new-be’s was divided as for the performances. All the societies performed amazingly which was inspiring enough for the first years to join and be a part of. Even during the traumatic weather and the horrible load shedding hours, the audience and the performers were at their peak. The western and eastern music society of the National College of Arts did a fusion which turned out to be a huge blast. The formal dress code and the worship themed lighting; starting with a classical instrumental made everyone hold onto their breaths. Keeping the security issues and the weather in mind; the National College of Arts still confirmed their level of determination and their fondness for the performing arts! (by Faiza Farooq)

Let's have a flash back at the inaugural Unilympics - a mega-multi sports event held on the 17th and 18th of March, 2010, at FAST-NUCES, Karachi campus. The first day was dedicated to matches that belonged to the group stages, while the finals were held on day two. The All Star trophy was to be handed over to the institution that wins in the most sports categories.
After exciting wars fought at the Unilympics battlefield, IoBM managed to steal the show and took away Gold in Table Tennis; SMC were the Throw ball champs; NUST knocked out all the rest in Volley ball and Basketball and the hosts FAST conquered the field in Futsal. As a consequence of being the only university to win in two sports categories, NUST was awarded the ALL STAR trophy.

As every year, Talent Show 2010 had also created quite a buzz around SCM prior to the event. The show took a captivating kick off with a dazzling Red Carpet, where all attendees flaunted their chic attire.
The Show began with some hilarious dubbed videos of political figures, some juicy Shifa News including comical jibes at the college canteen, librarian, and the infamous Shifa Lobby guards! All of it got the audience in a fun packed frenzy before they even knew it.
The highly anticipated Awards soon followed, with the Best Legitimate Couple category rightfully won by Hiba Khan and Omar Shoaib of the Class of 2012.
The theatrical talents of students at Shifa were avidly displayed in a play on “Shoania” which gripped the audience's attention, but was subject to mixed opinions later.
The groovy band performance, with Asad Mehmood and Omar Rauf as guitarists and Moeed Hassan on vocals created quite a stir. Especially Dani California got the audience totally upbeat.
Through out the show the audience was fully charged, enjoying every bit of the show. All the crammed energy certainly called for a sumptuous dinner later, which too, was as splendid as the rest of the evening. (by Amimah Fatima)
